Hosted by Ben Arends from Youth Unlimited.
Â
Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited (YU) connects with at-risk youth, from the North Shore to Chilliwack, and journeys with them for the long run. They operate as small, innovative teams who customize their programs to meet the needs of the communities they serve.
A challenge they face with their hyper-personalized programs is tracking metrics, especially when the staff would rather be mentoring youth rather than filling out paperwork.
Â
Thus we want to make this web app as streamlined as possible help YU's impact shine, while letting their youth workers focus on transforming lives.

We are Builders. Innovators. Dreamers. People who believe we can and we will change the world for good.
Our world is filled with chaos. Many people are panicking, despairing, or simply ignoring.
We're different. We look chaos right in the eyes and proceed:Â building order.
Â
We innovate. We create new products, retrofit old preprocesses, or lead digital transformation.
Â
#HACKVAN2023 will be the 4th hackathon we have organized. Previously, we hosted: #HACK2021 - Vancouver, #HACK2022 - Vancouver, and #HackPoverty23).
Â
We come from all faith backgrounds (Muslim, atheists, New Age, and more) and are led by Christians.
Â
Our leaders' faith means two things:
Â
We will pray at the hackathon: inviting God into our work. We will work with eager expectation of a world as God designed it:Â
Â
A world where youth can wake up without worry or hurry, exit their home and be greeted by friends all around, and eat dinner with loved ones in joy and peace.
Thank you so much for signing up! We always have fewer designers than programmers.
During the hackathon, you will join a team and develop three prototypes:
 1. a paper sketch - created in collaboration with the client on Friday night; to articulate the workflow of the app
 2. wireframes - to articulate the structure of web app
 3. high fidelity prototype - to articulate the colours and styles of the app
